our philosophy

At a planetary level we have entered into what is called the ‘Anthropocene’ where the activities of humans are now dominating the planet’s climate and environment. The result of this dominance is now impacting humanity’s very existence on planet earth as a result of climate change, rampant pollution, community breakdown and biodiversity loss to name just a few. With a fresh lens and new tools, it’s our purpose to address the underlying reasons for how this is has come to pass, which include:

  • Ineffective governance – suboptimal political, legal and corporate governance systems
  • Bias for hard science – the disregard for indigenous, socio-cultural and anthropological inputs into decision making
  • Flawed beliefs and lenses – myopia, poor systemic thinking and understanding of affordances and the delusion of control leading to unintended consequences
  • Disconnection – breakdown of communities, the democratic fallacy, stakeholder agency and DOMINION.

From these, we are about the generation of better ideas, the setting of seeds in the now, that include the equal treatment and respect of humans, non-humans and the planet for a more harmonious and healthier world.

We aim to show that humanity can live in harmony and prosperity by working with decision makers to make the impossible, possible by expanding and integrating the phrase ‘eco’, that in latin means household. To date, the fusion of the two household based pursuits of ecology and economy has, for those reasons outlined above, never happily met in the middle. Our vision for a brighter future is to nurture that middle ground for humanity to step into.

We invite you to join us on that journey.
