what we do

Humanity has entered the Anthropocene – a geological epoch defined by significant human impact on Earth’s systems – climate change has become a potent driver of conflict across multiple scales. Rising temperatures, shifting weather patterns, and more frequent extreme events have intensified competition over scarce resources such as water, arable land, and food, particularly in already fragile regions. These stressors often exacerbate existing political and social tensions, making communities more vulnerable to instability, insecurity and violence.

Non-state actors, including armed groups and criminal networks, have increasingly exploited environmental insecurity to gain influence, control resources, and undermine state authority. Additionally, the displacement of populations due to climate-induced disasters and degraded livelihoods has led to the strategic weaponisation of immigration, where forced migration is used to destabilise neighbouring states or regions. These dynamics illustrate how climate change in the Anthropocene is not only an environmental crisis but also a complex security challenge with global implications.

To address the nexus between climate and conflict, we are about the generation of better ideas, the setting of seeds in the now, that include the equal treatment and respect of humans, non-humans and the planet for a more harmonious and healthier world. We aim to show that humanity can live in harmony and prosperity by working with decision makers to make the impossible, possible.

Once we agree to commence, our assessment aligns you with one or more of our following core design, assessment and evaluation services:

  • Just Transition
  • Climate Law and Policy
  • Climate Resilience for Conflict-affected Areas
  • Resilient Infrastructure and Resource Planning
  • Climate and Conflict Risk (Supply Chains and Communities)
  • Climate Adaptive and Resilient Governance Structures and Systems
  • Climate-Security Intelligence and Early Warning Systems
  • Climate and Conflict Education and Training (see EAGLe)

our focus

At Ecolitic, we are unapologetically focused on building the urgent bridge between nature and power – the ecological and political, and make them one as a respected and harmonious union, as it once was. Humanity’s future depends on this healthy entanglement being reunited and redefined. We aspire to be that trusted place that clients come to first to understand how the world currently works, or mostly doesn’t, and how we can then support the design and implementation of solutions that ultimately brings balance and harmony in their workplaces, communities, regions and our planet. The pale blue dot in our name is a salute to what Astronomer Carl Sagan called our planet, as seen from space*, our sensitive and beautiful home – it’s the only home we have. We’re about ‘Oasis Earth’ in everything we do.

who we work with

We work with global government leaders, corporate decision makers, investors and communities to understand the winds of change that’s happening now and will need to happen to navigate current and future climate change complexities, where both risks and opportunities await.

We also enjoy industry and academic partnerships for projects and development of client offerings where we see the need and value by doing so. We believe this open-mindedness is crucial for the sharing of crucial knowledge today and the validation of services that offer contextuality and fitness for purpose for certain clients.

We have worked with the following:
